  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. For frosting, beat butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa with cream until smooth. Frost cooled cakes generously.
