Description
A delicious and creamy pasta dish made with ground beef, cream cheese, and spices, perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or spicy ground sausage, or half and half)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 3 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt (or more to taste at end)
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce (24 oz.)
- 4 cup beef broth
- 1 block cream cheese
- 1 cup pasta (shells or elbow macaroni noodles)
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pan pour the oil and cook the onions, garlic and ground beef on medium heat until slightly browned. Add the seasonings to the beef and stir. Drain the grease.
- Pour in the beef broth, spaghetti sauce and meat mixture into the slow cooker and stir. Add in the softened cream cheese, cut into small chunks and dropped on to the top, don’t stir. Close the lid and let cook for 3 hours on low.
- 30 minutes before it’s ready to serve, stir the cream cheese and shredded cheese around and add the pasta shells and stir that around also, making sure all the shells are submerged in the sauce so they can cook to tender.
- Stir every 10 minutes. Once noodles are done cooking you can top with parsley.
Notes
- This recipe can be adjusted for spiciness by using spicy ground sausage or adding red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
