Description

A delicious and vibrant vegetable side dish featuring sautéed carrots and green beans glazed with honey and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
  • 1 lb green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Blanch the vegetables: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the carrots and cook for 3–4 minutes, then add the green beans and cook for another 2–3 minutes. Both should be tender-crisp—not mushy. Drain immediately and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking. This keeps the vegetables bright and snappy.
  2. Sauté with flavor: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it begins to sizzle, stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds—just until fragrant. Be careful not to let it brown.
  3. Add honey and glaze: Pour in the honey and give it a quick stir. Let the mixture bubble slightly to form a shiny glaze. Add the blanched carrots and green beans to the skillet, tossing gently to coat them in the glaze.
  4. Season and serve: Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for 2–3 more minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is warmed through and coated in that beautiful golden glaze. Serve immediately.
