Description

Delicious candy-coated apples in vibrant colors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120 ml) light corn syrup
  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • ½ tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (pink, blue, yellow, green, purple – as needed)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly; insert sticks.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and vinegar in a saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium heat to 300°F (150°C) (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
  5. Divide syrup into bowls and tint each with different gel colors.
  6. Dip apples, rotating to create rainbow swirls.
  7. Place on parchment to cool and harden.
