Description

A creamy and delicious hummus made with chickpeas, olive oil, tahini, and garlic, perfect for dipping or spreading.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas (garbanzo beans – rinsed and drained)
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup toasted pine nuts (optional topping)
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil (optional topping)
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Add chickpeas, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to a food processor or blender.
  2. Blend until smooth. For a thinner consistency, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water as needed.
  3. Taste and adjust the salt, if needed.
  4. Spoon into a bowl and top with pine nuts, a drizzle of olive oil, and smoked paprika, if desired.
  5. Serve with pita chips or raw vegetables.

Notes

  • For added flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  • Store leftover hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
