Description

This garlic butter chicken is a quick and delicious recipe ideal for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to help them sear beautifully. In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Sprinkle both sides of each chicken breast with this seasoning blend.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the garlic butter sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1–2 minutes, just until the garlic is fragrant—be careful not to burn it.
  4. Finish the dish: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top. Add lemon juice and simmer everything together for another 2–3 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot. This dish is especially delightful over fluffy mashed potatoes or a bed of rice.
