Description
This Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine is a creamy and flavorful dish that combines tender fettuccine pasta with succulent shrimp and a spicy Cajun flair.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Fettuccine
- 1 tbsp Salt (for pasta water)
- 1 lb Shrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Green onions (chopped)
- 2 tbsp Parsley (fresh, chopped)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add fettuccine. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and season with Cajun spices. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, then remove from the skillet.
- In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir until it begins to simmer. Gradually mix in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss in the drained pasta. Stir gently to coat all ingredients in the creamy sauce for about 2 minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider marinating the shrimp in Cajun seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Pair this dish with a side salad for a complete meal.
